STORYBOOK
FAQ
How
is this jewelry produced?
All
of our work is hand made. We are designers and perfectionists,
so we give each piece great care.
How
did you come up with the idea for these designs?
It's funny how ideas go in a full circle. The original idea for
our bracelets came from an old Hopi story ring that Kathleen had
many years ago. The images on the ring were interesting, but the
story was not personally meaningful. Kathleen and I created a
collection of story bands using images from fairy tales bringing
the story telling tradition from one culture to another.
Have
you won any awards or received any publicity for this collection?
Yes. QVC did a special show from The Winterthur Museum featuring
the 10 best crafts people from Delaware. We were very proud to
be among the "10 best" and thrilled at the national exposure our
designs received. We also won a design award from Accent Magazine.
The press responded warmly to this collection and we were written
up in newspapers across the country -- papers as varied as The
Dallas Morning News, The Boston Herald, Women's
Wear Daily, and The Wilmington News Journal among
others. To see the publicity this collection received

and as always in our designs, the sunset and image conveying the
feeling that everything ends up just fine.
What
are the images on your Cinderella bracelet?
Cinderella washing the floor comes first. The three ugly sisters
are next followed by the fairy godmother, the castle, the prince,
the carriage that became a pumpkin, the silver slipper that saved
the day, and the Prince and Cinderella who lived happily ever
after as the story ends with a sunset.
What
are the images on your Little Red Riding Hood bracelet?
Little Red Riding Hood 's grandmother is sick in bed and the
sweet child gathers a basket full of treats to cheer her up. She
takes a forbidden short cut through the woods and on her way she
is followed by a wolf. When she gets to her grandmother's house,
the wolf had put grandmother in the closet and had taken her place
in bed. Red Riding Hood asked, "What big eyes you have. What a
big nose you have. What sharp teeth you have." Just as the wolf
leaped up to eat Red Riding Hood, a hunter arrived and shot the
wolf. Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother lived happily
ever after as the sun was setting.

Alice grew too big for, the flowers, the smoking caterpillar with
his vowels, the magic mushroom, a cat's grin, a teapot and the
